Spectres of the Last War
By far the youngest race of Eberron, the warforged were created by House Cannith for use as soldiers during the Last War. They are bulky humanoids covered in metal plates with a skeleton of metal and stone and muscles of wood fibers. The Treaty of Thronehold gave freedom to all warforged from their previous owners and now each warforged is free to find its own destiny as it sees fit. Warforged are not robots. They have emotions and most even adopt a gender identity (usually male) despite the lack of sex organs or the ability to reproduce. Created for service, most warforged like to keep busy, and will often attach themselves to a cause so that they can have a sense of purpose.
Warforged do not possess Dragonmarks. Each warforged does have a unique, glowing sigil on its forehead called a ghulra, however. The ghulra helps people tell them apart, but House Cannith doesn’t know why the ghulra appears on each newly created warforged.
Mechanically, warforged get +2 to Constitution and +2 to either Intelligence or Strength. They do not need to eat, drink, breathe, or sleep and are immune to effects related to these things. They automatically make Death Saving Throws, are resistant to effects that cause ongoing damage, and have a once per encounter ability that gives them extra hit points.
